2009/10 Season
The Golden State Pops Orchestra (GSPO) was formed in January of 2002 and is currently the only year-round pops orchestra in the Los Angeles area. The GSPO focuses on exciting and innovative concerts that are designed to entertain both the seasoned enthusiast as well as the casual music lover.

Great Composer Series

GSPO’s Great Composers Series will showcase music by some of the most recognized names in the film music history - John Williams, Leonard Bernstein, Alan Silvestri, John Ottman, Danny Elfman, James Horner, Alfred Newman and Alex North. By special arrangement with Michael Giacchino, GSPO will be playing his music from the TV series LOST, now in its last season. Artistic Director, Steven Allen Fox and Music Director Vic Pesavento have chosen these composers because they admire their artistry and all of the composers have won awards, recognizing their musical contributions.

Inland Pacific Ballet - The Little Mermaid

Hans Christian Anderson's brilliant tale, popularized by Disney's animation, comes to life in Inland Pacific Ballet's The Little Mermaid. Presented in collaboration with GSPO, this family friendly ballet features a recorded sound collage of great composers like Maurice Ravel, Claude Debussy, Benjamin Britten and Ralph Vaughn Williams. Come see how the music furthers the drama. Plus, a surprise ending adds special joy to this enchanted love story.
